Callie is growing!

Its been a while since I updated about Callie but wanted to post and say that she is really learning fast and is such a good dog. She is growing like a weed, already weighing 25 pounds after she was 17 when we brought her home. She has mastered the sit command, and is generally very very gentle. She gets excited, like all puppies, when someone new is around, or a little kid wants to pet her but in the house she rarely jumps on anything.

The potty training is going really good too, she hasnt had any accident in a couple of days and goes exclusively in the grass outside now. I went to work 2 days this week and she had to stay in her crate during the day, and had no accidents. Dani came home at lunch to let her out and play with her, and she really did well.

Callie really is a good girl, although I know Dani is tired of having to redirect night time activities around her. But all it takes is one look at her cute face to remember why we love her so much. :)

Scaredy cat!!!

Callie would love to play with the cats, but Blaze is a little apprehensive. This is about as close as they get before Blaze decides to jump off the bed.

Callie comes home!

Today Callie came home, she is only 8 weeks old but already a big girl at 17 pounds. This blog is going to be for and about her, to keep pictures, show updates etc.

Dani and I picked up Callie from the breeder around 3pm on 05/08. The breeder's name is Gary Weyrich and he lives near Peoria so it was a semi long trip to/from Chicago to get her. Callie thought it was a long car ride, as you can see from her passed out in the back seat.

The Weyrichs are really nice, and each time we visited they invited us inside to sit at their kitchen table to talk. This is a picture of Dani and Callie at the table before we left.

We were slightly worried about how our two cats, Blaze and Willow would react to Callie. When we got home, Willow almost immediately walked right up to Callie and nuzzled noses. It was such a cute sight, I of course missed the picture but we got a nice one later on with both cats gathering up courage to walk up and meet Callie.

That's all for the first update, it's been a busy day. Will have more pictures and more stories tomorrow!
